Channels
Channels are the visitor touch points that you want to monitor with Skypoint.
The three touch points allowed are:
- Email : The email channel is used when you want to send emails from Skypoint or from an integrated external emailing system and be able to track traffic from those emails to your other channels.
- Mobile : The mobile channel refers to a native IOS or Android app. To interact with this app, this app needs to contain the Skypoint mobile SDK for IOS or Andriod.
- Website : A website is defined by a hostname-URL and its aliases. You enable Skypoint for your website by adding a JavaScript snippet.
Steps To Create A New Channel
For Email
- Navigate to Data > Channels and click on Add Channel button present on the top left corner of the workspace.
- You will see a pop-up that will let you choose your touch point. Choose the Email option.
- Fill in the channel name, the description of the channel and select a domain. If there is no domain present, you can create a custom domain by clicking on the blank under domain and just filling up the domain name.
- Then, click on Save.
- Then, come back to the channel section and you will see that a new channel will be created. Click on the three dot button under actions and run the channel.
For Mobile
- Navigate to Data > Channels and click on Add Channel button present on the top left corner of the workspace.
- You will see a pop-up that will let you choose your touch point. Choose the Mobile option.
- Fill in the channel name, the description of the channel, App ID and select a domain . If there is no domain present, you can create a custom domain by clicking on the blank under domain and just filling up the domain name.
- Then, click on Save.
- Then, come back to the channel section and you will see that a new channel will be created. Click on the three dot button under actions and run the channel.
For Website
- Navigate to Data > Channels and click on Add Channel button present on the top left corner of the workspace.
- You will see a pop-up that will let you choose your touch point. Choose the Website option.
- Fill in the channel name, the description of the channel, and the hostname. Click on Next.
- Select the domain that would contain the channel and click on Finish.
- If there is no domain present, you can create a custom domain by clicking on the blank under domain and just filling up the domain name and then click Finish.
- To let Skypoint function work on your website, you need to install a JavaScript tag on your website. It is upto you to decide whether you want to do it yourself or an engineer can do it for you.
- Then, come back to the channel section and you will see that a new channel will be created. Click on the three dot button under actions and run the channel.
